Hey there, I have a Black Armor network drive that has suddenly stopped working on all computers, It currently holds a lot of invaluable files, family photos etc. Given that its just a HDD mounted on a chipboard I decided to disassemble and install it as a regular internal. My computer has discovered it but is unable to access. I'm not willing to format as i could/will loose all my files (although it never gave me the option to format). So as you can see I'm in quite the situation and would benefit from any and all assistance!

Thank You for your time.

Hi and welcome to ExTS

my computer has discovered it but is unable to access

By this I assume that it is showing as a drive in "Computer" ?

If this is the case you should be able to run Seagate's diagnostics on it.

You want the Windows version ( not DOS )

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

If you are unable to access the drive you will not be able to backup your data.

I can't read the error report from the image you posted - can you give me the gist of what it says please ?

Try this:

Start > type in ......diskmgmt.msc ......ENTER

If the drive shows here it will be given a Disk Number - Disk 0 is your main drive with Windows on it.

If you right click on the partition that has the drive letter ( could be E: ) and select "Change Drive Letter ..."

Change the drive letter to something like G: - as long as this is not the same as anything else showing there.

Let me know the result and give me some idea what the error message is please :)
