R3in Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 So here is the problem. I can't access my router and can't port forward. I use the 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 My defaut Gateway Key is 192.168.1.1, I checked. When I enter 192.168.1.1 into my web browser I get "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 192.168.1.1" I am using Google Chrome as I said and that I have internet connection the is 100% ! The router is TP-Link. Also my computer is directly plugged into the router with a cabel. If I missed anything please say. So what should I do ? Thank you in advance! Quote

If so and still no access, how old is the router? I ask that because sometimes setting the computers date back to a date and time when you could access the router sometimes works. Also found if I enter the wrong address for my router - 192.168.1.2 for instance I get the ...Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to It couldn't be you are using the wrong address for your router could it? EDIT ... Sorry I can see you have already checked. KenB Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Hi R3in and welcome to ExTS I seem to remember reading this somewhere else that only allows one post :) Start > ..type in ....cmd ...right click on cmd.exe that shows top left of screen ....click on Run as Administrator At the prompt type in .... ping 192.168.1.1 ..................... [ space after ping ] You should get 4 packets sent - 4 received and no losses ......do you? I assume that you have a wireless internet connection with no problems ? Let us know the make and model number of your router please. If you can ping the router it seems odd that you cannot access it using the same IP Address. If you plug the ethernet cable direct from the laptop to the router can you access it now? Also try https://192.168.1.1 ............................note the addition of the s .........you can copy and paste this into the address bar. Do you have another computer that you can try ? R3in Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 So I checked my router and I noticed that under the router there is a : ip for the router : 192.162.1.1 That is wier because it doesn't work. I tried on another computer I connectet them with cabel to the router and nothing. Maybe I should reset the router ? I am not sure what will happen if I do? (also I tried and restarted it but havn't reset it yet) The router is TP-Link but I am not sure what model. Quote

Its not from the computer. It will say on the label - this one says "Model TL WDR4300" ( just above the red box ) The N750 would help identify it too. You need to go to command prompt again and type in ping 192.168.0.1 Let us know if you have the CD.
