AdvancedSetup Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Just an FYI SuperAntiSpyware is NOT an AntiVirus application. It is only written and designed for Malware detection and removal just like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware application. You still need to run a good AntiVirus program. maynardvdm Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Sorry, Then i would recommend bitdefender or Nod32 (not free) or AVG free edition, though it is better to get a paid anti-virus coz you get so many more features. Seth Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Just an FYI SuperAntiSpyware is NOT an AntiVirus application. Perhaps, but neither myself or my techs remember the last time we saw a "Virus" on a customers computer. On average, we disinfect about a dozen computers a week that are running antivirus applications such as Norton, AVG, or Mcafee. We do so via SAS (and now as well) MalwareBytes. However, we have also noted that in the last month or so, Vundo has become so aggressive that neither (and others) will not remove the latest variants and VundoFix isn't keeping up either. Above and beyond that, and with all due respect Ron, I disagree with your statement on many levels. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. AdvancedSetup Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Well not as aggressive as they use to be there are still Virus out there. My logs show them being stopped and or cleaned every once in a while. As for SAS not being Antivirus those are even Nick's words and he has a post on his site saying they're not Antivirus and don't intend to go there. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Seth Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Thank you for your comments Ron. I hold them in high regard. You reminded me of MalwareBytes, and that has now become our second scanner of choice. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
