GRANDAD Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Hi, I have, apart from a laptop and a desktop, twoTablets-one being a MOMO8 and the second being a MOMO8 GENERIC. My current problem is as follows albeit there is most likely a simple answer. I have had a few problems with my generic tablet freezing ECTof late and then on Sunday it would switch on but not load up. It kept saying that the programs had stopped working and I was unable to access any part. I tried the reset switch several times to no avail but after several hours of trying I was able to access the APPS section and from there did a FACTORY RESET. My problem now is that the unit is working fine and I am currently reinstalling programs but find that ‘TVCATCHUP’ is not available and ‘ITVPLAYER’ is not compatible? These worked fine before. Ray1000 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I can only think the tablets software may have been updated since your original factory settings were put together, and later something was added to make TVCATCHUP available and ITVPLAYER compatible. Try the manufacturers web site support to see if there are any updates available. Both of those programs are loaded on my tablet and working properly ... it's a different tablet. Ray Quote
Synapse Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 ITV Player is compatible with Android 2.2 onwards, so....in theory all should be ok. What version of Android is installed? Also have you been in to Settings and updated the firmware? Quote
GRANDAD Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Many thanks for the replys -- my ANDROID version is 4.1.1 I will in the next day or so recheck the manufacturers web site for up dates. As a point i have found an App for LiveNow!tv from the APP STORE which does run live tv whithout problems but would like to be able to reinstall ITV IPLAYER. Second point being my second actual MOMO8 has the same ANDROID version and build info looks the same ??. QUESTION PLEASE--- is it much of a problem-if its there- to up date and how do i do this? :confused: Quote

I am unable to find a compatible APP for TVCATCHUP but if I go onto my browser and type tvcatchup the site comes up and I have been able to re log in. But as I say I do not have an APP [iCON] for this hence it can be a bit long winded, However I have an APP for LIVENOW !TV which works fine with a lot more choice and NO ADDS. This is from the APP STORE. This may be a better site? What do you think?. Quote

Something like ...WiFi > Internet > Google > TV Catchup > sign in > Choose to save password > Click favourites star icon at the top of the page > Edit the title (make it shorter) > Add To > Choose Home Screen.
