This has only happened about three times since I've had my lappy but I'm intrigued. I've just logged in and there was a really nice desktop clock and calendar placed nicely on my screen. Intending to make a capture of it to post here, I clicked on the Snipping Tool icon which I keep permanently on my desktop - such a useful tool - only to see the clock and calendar disappear. Can anybody throw any light on this, as I've previously done a search in Windows Help but without success. I do wish Microsoft hadn't abandoned Tools.

Please bear in mind that I installed Classic Shell which makes my desktop appear as it did in Windows 7.

Thanks, David :)

Rather than Snippy, try using the "Print Screen" key, then open "Paint", and click "Paste", that should give you the full screen. When copying drop down menu's it is the only way, as menu's close when you click on snippy.

Thank you Plastic Nev,

I'll do what you've said but it may well be some time before the clock appears again - this is the mysterious part.

Ah, yes, that clock. thanks for letting us know.

If you try to do anything it does of course disappear again, however, remember the trick of the print screen key if needing a picture of any thing of that nature, drop down menus etc. it can come in handy for anyone wanting to show us contents of drop downs, or even anything to do with that clock.

Nev.
