New Monitor issues :( help please

Hi guys, i just purchased this monitor; http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/desktop-pc-monitors/monitor-projectors/pc-monitors/philips-234e5qhaw-full-hd-23-ips-led-monitor-with-mhl-21853517-pdt.html

 

and im seeking help as i cannot configure my windows7 to fit it, meaning that it only stretches so far. its connected via hdmi.

 

also this monitor has integrated speakers which i dont want to use, but im not sure how to disable them so i can use my own speakers.

okay i fixed this by fiddling around with the monitors setting, i put the over scan setting on and muted my the speakers x.x
