PC Shuts down without warning.

Firstly, I have absolutely no knowledge of PC's

 

I own a Zoostorm PC with the following 'bits' in it;

 

AMD A6-3670 APU with Radeon HD graphics 2.70 GHz

RAM= 6 GB (5.48 GB usable)

64 bit operating system

Windows 7 professional

 

My problem is this;

 

I can surf the net all day without issue, go on face book, write Emails, do anything in fact but when I log in to play World of Tanks I get about 2 minutes in to a game and the computer just switches off without warning. This will happen a few times and then the PC will be fine for a couple of hours and then shut down, with out warning, again.

I have run several sweeps with my anti virus (Avast) and the Windows 7 operating system has been reinstalled.

Can anyone shed some light on the problem?

This sort of shut down can be due to overheating so the first thing to check is the fans and heatsinks are clean of dust or fluff. which will be preventing a good enough flow of cooling air.

I assume this is a desktop, so you will need to go inside the case to clean it.

Turn off the power at the wall socket, then remove the side covers and using a small none nylon brush, remove dust from fans and cooling fins, a can of compressed air used in short bursts will be of help with that.

 

Do you see any quick flash of a blue screen with white text when it shuts down? Let us know if you do, I can describe how to keep that blue screen so you can write down any messages shown.

Download Speccy from here:

click here

 

You want the FREE option.

 

Run it when you are playing the game.

Before it crashes - make a note of the temperatures that Speccy is recording.

Can you post the temperatures here please ?

 

I suspect that the Graphics Card may be high.
