Aldaz108 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Is it possible if I have 2 video card slots, to have both my old GTX 560 and my new GTX 650ti 2gb SSC in my motherboard using both their powers together? I have the AS Rock Motherboard or something. Also, a 750 Watt power supply. If this is possible, can someone explain step by step on how to do it, and possible risks. Quote
KenB Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Hi I think you are talking about "Crossfire" This is where you link up 2 Video Cards and get them to act together to produce better graphics. As far as I am aware - the two video cards need to be the same .....or at least come from the same generation. This is to say ..... You may be able to Crossfire a GTX 650 with a GTX 670 .....but not with the GTX 560 as it is a different generation. Another thing to think about is your motherboard ......... it may not support Crossfire anyway. I have posted a video on Crossfire for information .... DSTM Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 You are right KenB. I have crossfire setup on one machine and using 2 different cards without issues, but they must be the same series as you suggested. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
KenB Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Thanks for confirming DSTM :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
Aldaz108 Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 not possible for me to have both cards in then? because I was looking at my Nvedia Settings and it said CUDA (not sure what that is) but it had my gfx card, and it looked like I could select multiple cards with that. Quote
KenB Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 not possible for me to have both cards in then? No - sorry. After a bit more reading ...... Nvidia are even more fussy than AMD. You would need two identical cards. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
