RustyKnight Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Every time I start my PC I get a box pop up from Zonealarm asking me if I want to pay for the full version, is there a way to stop this? DSTM Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Hi and welcome to FPCH. They say there is a way but requires a Reg Edit only in Safe Mode. In the search box type REGEDIT then "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm] Set "RunUpsellNotice" and showWelcome to 0. You say your very experienced however any hesitation would be best to Back up the Registry first with a program like "ERUNT" Let us know how you go. RustyKnight Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Thanks for the welcome and the replies. I've been using PCs since the days of Windows 3.1 and other systems since the old Research Machines in the 80's so I know a thing or two  I did send Zonealarm a message through their Facebook page and they told me it should come up all the time - it didn't today but next time it does I'll do try the registry edit. DSTM Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Please let us know if the Registry Edit works for you. It will help our members and guests with the same popup nuisance. Thanks. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Dokie Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) Good advice from DSTM. I have written a tutorial on Erunt Here if you need it. Hello Starbuck! very nice tutorial. Thank you for the tutorial! ERUNT has been around for years. Please check this out and see if you approve. I have been using this for years. Just a little extra from ERUNT. Be careful where you down load it. There are a lot of down load managers out there. I trust this site. Would like to hear your thoughts on this program. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/eruntgui.html PS If there is a better down load site without down load managers ,please post the link! The internet is getting really bad when down loading free programs. Please be careful!! Edited April 26, 2014 by Dokie Quote
RustyKnight Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 I haven't tried the registry hack, but today I got a popup for the first time in a week and it had a special offer - 3PCs for 1 year $9.95, instead of $39.95 for one PC for one year. I decided that was cheap enough for me to actually pay for internet security so I've bought it. Sorry to have been a pain, this thread is not solve but temporarily averted!
