DSTM Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 How does browser security compare, IE10 to FireFox? A question posed to our Malware Specialists. Thanks. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Starbuck Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Not that easy for normal users to compare them, as IE is basically WYSIWYG. Where as Firefox can install extra addons to improve the security.... so it depends on what a user adds to Firefox. But based on using the browser as the download gives... it seems that IE still has the edge. DSTM Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Thanks Starbuck. I have Firefox, Pale moon and IE10. Just tossing up which one to have as my default browser and wondered about the Security aspect. IE10 loads much faster, much less Ram and managed to get a speed dial of 25 boxes called "Frequent" so after your post I am going to go with IE10 for the present. Starbuck Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 IE got it's bad reputation a long time ago.... but things have changed and it's a pretty good browser now. But a lot of people have long memories. Quote Member of:UNITE
etavares Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Have to agree with Starbuck. Although, IE did have that fatal flaw that required an offcycle update. :) But, they all have those at some point. I use Chrome since that's what I've been using for a long time now. I use IE11 for some websites that don't render well in Chrome. -etavares Quote etavares is a member of:Alliance of Security Analysis ProfessionalsUnified Network of Instructors and Trained Eliminators
