How does browser security compare, IE10 to FireFox?

A question posed to our Malware Specialists.

Thanks.

Not that easy for normal users to compare them, as IE is basically WYSIWYG.

Where as Firefox can install extra addons to improve the security.... so it depends on what a user adds to Firefox.

But based on using the browser as the download gives... it seems that IE still has the edge.

Thanks Starbuck. I have Firefox, Pale moon and IE10.

Just tossing up which one to have as my default browser and wondered about the Security aspect.

IE10 loads much faster, much less Ram and managed to get a speed dial of 25 boxes called "Frequent" so after your post I am going to go with IE10 for the present.

Have to agree with Starbuck. Although, IE did have that fatal flaw that required an offcycle update. :) But, they all have those at some point.

I use Chrome since that's what I've been using for a long time now. I use IE11 for some websites that don't render well in Chrome.
