davido-23 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Hi, I have a laptop running windows 8.1 and I'm trying to clone to a larger SSD (all formatted to NTFS etc.) using Macrium Reflect (Free Edition which supports GPT). I went through the partition section and was all setup with my ssd (in usb caddy) as my destination drive, macrium went through it's process (about an hour) and told me the clone was successful, great I thought... so I checked the drive it was completely empty! can anyone advise. Thanks. Quote

Plastic Nev Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Just to add to KenB's advise, look around your existing hard drive first to see if the total of used space has doubled, and if so look deeper to see if Macrium put the clone on or in to some odd folder somewhere. Considering it took around the usual time, it must have put the clone somewhere. If that has happened, and you find it, it may be best to delete it as the next full clone will of course include it otherwise. Quote Need help with your computer problems? DSTM Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Further to the above advice a free program called "Everything" will find every entry of Macrium on your Hard Drive in seconds. HTH. http://www.voidtools.com/ Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
