PEV Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I just did a scan of my system sing Malware Bytes (free) They are advertising several levels of secure Cloud back up and claim to be able to back up everything including files/music/etc. I have asked in the past about cloud back up but was put off due to statements that files could not be stored on Cloud sysytems? Can someone give me some info as I am seriously thinking of backing up on Cloud if it is a good way to back up and i dont want to pay for the Malware Bytes system unless it's suited to my small amount of files etc from my HP Pavillion 2003 circa running Windows XP By the way glad to be back guys after quite a long time off FreePC Help Ray Quote
seedy21 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Hi PEV It depends what are you wanting to put onto the cloud? I have used Dropbox in the past that is a cloud storage where you can share information between a couple of PC/ Mac computers. They do offer 2GB for free and a paid for service if you need more space. You will need a good Internet speed as uploading alot of Data will take alot of time. Malwarebytes Secure Backup do offer a free trail of the software which may give you all the answers you need. https://www.malwarebytes.org/securebackup/ Quote “It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.”― Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club http://www.geekstogo.com/downloads/unite_blue.png Need help with your computer problems? PEV Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Thanks Seedy. My PC is a 2003 HP Pavillion so Mac has no relevance. As I have such a small amount of stuff on my hard drive I was going to go for the lowest package that Malwarebytes offers which is not a lot of money if I have insurance against a ransomeware or other nasty I have been trying to find how much capacity my hard drive has and how much is used but cant find it otherwise I would tell you the amount would need sending to cloud. Can anyone help with this or other advice please. Ray Quote

KenB Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Hi Ray Take a look here click here Depending upon how much you want to store there are some good free options. I don't use "cloud" so cannot really advise on the pros and cons. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
