RustyKnight Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I keep missing emails from Microsoft because they always go to the junk folder, I use Windows Live Mail to send/receive emails and was expecting something to do with my Xbox account, when I checked the junk folder on the Outlook website it was full of email from Microsoft  Quote [Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Ubuntu MATE, Linux Mint, Chromebook] [several Raspberry Pi running various versions of Raspbian]
RandyL Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Hi Rusty; That's a problem with any email filtering program. Who knows what their protocol is for determing junk mail. It does appear to be intuitive however so I suggest to start marking them as "not junk". This will automatically move them to your inbox. After doing this a few times the filter should start ignoring them and let them go to your inbox. Quote We are all members helping other members. RustyKnight Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 Thanks, I've started doing that now, I guess it'll have to become part of my weekly ritual! Quote [Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Ubuntu MATE, Linux Mint, Chromebook] [several Raspberry Pi running various versions of Raspbian]
Plastic Nev Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Hi, there is a way to stop them being blocked. Firstly open your Outlook.com box, then click on Junk, at the bottom of the page there is a script saying "Looking for an E Mail? If you can't find it here, look in your Blocked senders list." Click on "Blocked senders list" (That bit is a link) the next page has instructions for unblocking an address. Or even blocking one if being spammed by someone. Nev. Ray1000 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Hi Rusty, Have you got all your folders on view down the left hand side? My list starts with Inbox then Junk ... when a new one arrives in Junk it is hard to miss as the type changes to Bold and a 1 appears at the side. Ray Quote
RustyKnight Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 I'll have another look, is there an option to add Microsoft to a white list, although that doesn't always help because there are so many variations of email address domains.
