New to Android advice etc etc

Hi All

 

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 Inch (WIFI) this is my first tablet and would like advice on mainly Rooting the device like I have no idea at all so ANY advice about the rooting process would be helpful like what happens how my device will be after so on and so on there are lots I am unsure of and before I commit to doing so I need to be fully informed of all possible things .. hope you understand what I mean and look forward to hearing for any of you soon :)

Many thanks for your input and to assure you I am certainly not joking and because I have no idea on the how does not mean I am not capable of doing so just need the info and will take your advice to leave it as it is under advisement.... many thanks again :)

I'm sure you are more than capable.

 

It just strikes me that serious changes to the operating system with the chance of irreparable damage is best practised on "out of date" machines rather than "new" ones.

So as I said I am new to this and so far I am being given little information about rooting my tablet apart from it is risky and machine is new and with all due respect ray and anyone else reading this that is my call to make by all means make me aware of the risks but ultimately it is my choice and as of yet I have nothing to go on I only joined this forum for this reason and nothing else so I wait all information as and when it comes available so I can make the choice or not to go ahead with rooting my device.

 

anything and everything about rooting android that anyone can share will be gratefully received

 

Information is all I seek at the moment

Thanks for the links plenty to read and will indeed make me think but really what I am after good or bad is other peoples views and experiences on rooting there device there must be users here who have done it and can share that with me or at least I am hoping there is but thanks again Starbuck that information is a start and gratefully received :)

I understand and sorry I'm no help ... the nearest I've come to doing anything similar is updating my Mio P550 slightly and the original ROM was readily available should anything have gone wrong.

 

I'm sure if there are people on here with experience, they'll be along shortly.

I've just rooted my Nexus 5 yesterday with this new tool. It took me 1 minute only and the guys from LifeHacker also recommend it:

Depending on the Android version you have it might work like a charm.

 

My main reason to make a root: Needed to record video from the phone screen in a better way than using Command Propmpt from the PC.
