Ray1000 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Hi J You must be joking :D I'd enjoy it as it is ... "Rooting the Device" and "I have no idea at all " are rarely found in one sentence. Ray Quote

Ray Hi Ray Many thanks for your input and to assure you I am certainly not joking and because I have no idea on the how does not mean I am not capable of doing so just need the info and will take your advice to leave it as it is under advisement.... many thanks again :) Quote
Ray1000 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Thank you J, I'm sure you are more than capable. It just strikes me that serious changes to the operating system with the chance of irreparable damage is best practised on "out of date" machines rather than "new" ones. Ray Quote
Guest JokersWild75 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Hi Ray So as I said I am new to this and so far I am being given little information about rooting my tablet apart from it is risky and machine is new and with all due respect ray and anyone else reading this that is my call to make by all means make me aware of the risks but ultimately it is my choice and as of yet I have nothing to go on I only joined this forum for this reason and nothing else so I wait all information as and when it comes available so I can make the choice or not to go ahead with rooting my device. anything and everything about rooting android that anyone can share will be gratefully received Information is all I seek at the moment Hope I am clear and hope someone can help Regards JokerWild75 Quote

I'm sure if there are people on here with experience, they'll be along shortly. Ray Quote

mh2 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I've just rooted my Nexus 5 yesterday with this new tool. It took me 1 minute only and the guys from LifeHacker also recommend it: http://lifehacker.com/towelroot-roots-android-kitkat-devices-in-one-tap-no-p-1592226618 Download here: http://towelroot.com/ Depending on the Android version you have it might work like a charm. My main reason to make a root: Needed to record video from the phone screen in a better way than using Command Propmpt from the PC. Quote Get help with computer problems.
