no more warnings from Kaspersky.

That's good. :)

Btw: I did mention earlier that your Java needed updating to Java 8 update 11.

Java has now been updated to Java 8 update 20.

So it will need updating again:

  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 8 Update 20 and save it to your desktop.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java SE 8 Update 20".
  • Click the "Download JRE " button.
  • Accept the license agreement.
  • select 'Windows x64.exe' from the list.
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on downloaded icon to install the newest version.

If you are happy with the way your system is running, we will finish off the cleaning procedure.

Hi Starbuck

Sorry for delay but that me now installed the new version of Java.

In the past when prompted to update Java it never seems to work.

Hi Gadgie

What do I need to do to update Java in the future?

I personally don't use the Auto updater.

I always check the Java link a couple of times a week and if there is a newer version i download and install it as per the instructions in my previous post.

That way i know i'm getting just the Java download and nothing else bundled with it.

Let's finish the cleaning process and remove the tools we have used.

We'll also set you a fresh restore point.

Step 1

Restart MBAM.

Click on the History tab >> Quarantine

Tick to select all items (if any there ) and then click the Delete button.

Close MBAM.

Step 2

Download Delfix and save it to your desktop.

  • Ensure Remove disinfection tools is checked.
  • Also place a checkmark next to:
  • Create registry backup
  • Purge system restore

    .
  • Click the Run button.

When the tool has finished, a log will open in notepad.... but i don't actually need this report

Step 3

Eset can be removed using the Remove Programs feature in Control Panel.
