jayden-lee Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I've been looking around, and maybe I just haven't noticed it but I need to find advanced file sharing, I'm not using a server, but my Windows xp has everything on it, movies, photos, etc. I want the admins on my network be able to change things and everything admin, but anything lower on be able to view the files, I really don't want anyone but me have the ability to delete or alter files, please help, starting to feel kinda dumb because I'm sure there's a simple fix that I looking past Quote
RandyL Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 By default Simple File Sharing is enabled in XP. To change this go to Folder Options>View. Clear or untic Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended) Go back to the shared folder and right click it. Select Properties and use the sharing tab and security tab to set the desired permissions.
