jadentyhy Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Hi all, Haven't posted in here in a while but I was just curious about something someone said to me a few days ago. I was working on a site for a client recently I added a new feature (accordion style Read More/Less links) and this client said that the new features were not working in IE. So I went to browserstack and ran some tests all version of IE8+ were fine so I asked this client what OS they were using and what version of IE. They came back and told me Windows 7 and IE7 - I thought that was very strange, maybe someone can shed some light on this, but I didn't think anyone would be running IE7 on a Windows 7 machine? And also would anyone code for IE7 now? ¸.•°*”˜˜”*°•. ¸.•°*”˜˜”*°•.¸ ..¸.•°*”˜˜”*°•Thank you.•°*”˜˜”*°•.¸ ———————————————— http://sieuthi77.com/main/w2.jpghttp://sieuthi77.com/main/w1.jpghttp://sieuthi77.com/main/w1.jpghttp://sieuthi77.com/main/w.jpghttp://sieuthi77.com/main/w1.jpghttp://sieuthi77.com/main/w1.jpghttp://sieuthi77.com/main/w2.jpg Quote
Plastic Nev Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 The simple answer is to explain that if running Windows 7 he should install the latest version of IE 11. He is risking his security running such an earlier version any way. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here. Starbuck Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 You can't install IE7 natively since Internet Explorer 8 is already part of Windows 7. So no idea how he managed that one. Quote Member of:UNITE

RandyL Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Starbuck is correct as always. The only way IE 7 could be installed is if it was on Windows Vista or an earlier version of Windows. You were correct to assume it was strange. Please let us know more as we agree with you. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
