KenB Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Ran rescue disc after pc wouldnt start however used wrong one and ran 8 by mistake, This needs further explanation please. Were Win7 and Win8 on the same drive - different partitions ? Or - did you simply use the wrong installation disk ? Do you have Win 8 on your system now ? ( If this is the rescue disk from another system and you have Win8 on 2 systems using the same product key M$ do not take kindly to this :( ) DO NOT save anything to the problem machine as this may make recovery of any files even more difficult. Use it as little as possible. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test

KenB Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 need to revert if i can. It is not that simple I am afraid. Installing Win8 would have formatted your hard drive - effectively wiping it clean. There are a couple of pieces of software that you could try to access the "deleted" files. Try EaseUs first - click here Try the FREE one. It will only let you recover 2GB of data free - so be selective. If this can access it - it may be possible to use another "free" option to get at some more. +++++++++++ You would be best advised to take the hard drive out of this machine and connect it to another one using an enclosure or adapter. Install EaseUs on the other machine. Make a note of which drive letter is allocated to the problem drive. Scan the drive with EaseUs +++++++++++ Any questions just ask :) Remember - do not save anything to the problem hard drive as it will overwrite the files you want to access.
