Hi, thanks in anticipation of any help with following -

Unable to connect to wi-fi network. My security settings low, pop-up blockers off.

Nobody else reportings problems. I have never been able to connect this laptop, to this

particular network since new, 6 months ago, yet never problem elswhere.

“Council Library Wifi” did not allow a connection from this computer.

“Llimited connection”, so no IP address assigned ?.

No tech help, and router is remote.

Any advice on a next step?

Thanks very much ! http://3-ps.googleusercontent.com/h/www.geekstogo.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/spoton.gif.pagespeed.ce.y2QDjP8M6b.gif

hi KenB,

Thanks very much for the reply and for helping out.

Tech-guy visiting Central library yesterday unable to resolve. Discussion with colleagues for all

Edinburgh libraries conclude the problem is Win 8.

Previous reports, but not many as no system in place to capture feedback.

Joins the queue of other issues to be fixed. Like working electricity sockets for a start !

Thanks again
