Samsung have announced a 3.2TB solid state drive that instead of being the latest SATA III base is actually PCIE based for even faster speeds, more here.

The really interesting thing is opting for PCIe mounting, maybe other manufacturers will catch on to that and produce smaller SSD's for it, if so it could be a real game changer, though there may have to be some sort of tweaks for the BIOS to see it and boot from PCIe.
