PEV Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I have already been asking for help about this in the 'email' trouble shooting section of the forum but thought posting here might find more punters who as they are XP users may be familiar with setting up an OE6 email account. The story is I have had my o2 email stopped as Sky have bought o2 broadband so I now have to have a Sky.com email address. I have set up Sky's basic email account which is shared with Yahoo and it is so basic!! I thought it would be simple to get rid of the old o2 email account from OE6 and just put the Sky emmail account in but I'm just getting emails bounced back with these messages The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'r.peverall1@sky.com'. Subject '', Account: 'pop.tools.sky.com (1)', Server: 'smtp.tools.sky.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.7.1 Authentication required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78 The Sky broadband help team have not got a clue - I have spent hours trying with five of them! problem apparently is OE6 is "too outdated for them and they have no instruction manuals on it" and all they know how to set up is Outlook. Surely some of you guys have set up a sky.com email account using OE6 as a platform? Maybe some of you got bumped off o2 when Sky took over. Can anyone help please, Thanks Ray Quote

RandyL Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 The correct settings for a Windows desktop email client can be found here although OE6 is not listed the settings should be the same.
