Berlinboy Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I'd appreciate some advice connecting to a corporate WiFi network. Us employees found out that by using our windows log in credentials we could access the company WiFi. They had renamed the network to something vague so we wouldn't know it was the company's own network. However they began to notice we were connecting our phones without permission and began blocking unauthorised devices. They said, and I don't know if its true or not, that each device when connecting to the network for the first time is allocated by them a unique IP address which they block if they realise it is not an authorised device. I'd like to ask if there is a way around this IP block if indeed it is the case? Would a factory reset of the blocked device lead to the IT dept's system 'forgetting' the device they had blocked? Is it possible to alter the IP address so it would connect? Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks everyone. John
Plastic Nev Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Sorry but you are obviously trying to gain something that your company forbids. We cannot under any circumstances advise on ways round that as it does actually constitute theft of company property. This matter is entirely between yourselves and the company. Nev.
