GRANDAD Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Hi just a quick question, if you are connecting via VGA are you using a 3.5 to 3.5mm sound lead? Quote
Plastic Nev Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Hi George, (I wish you would stick with just one name) A couple of questions, is this using a desktop or a laptop computer? If you are using a desktop, then nothing can get back into the computer if using VGA and a separate sound cable, however if a laptop and then setting the laptop to use an external monitor which settings are you using? georgeriley139 Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Its a desktop why would using vga make the mouse and keyboard freeze(wasnt aware i had more than one name) Quote
Plastic Nev Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 That is the puzzle George, I cannot see any reason at all why it should influence the computer in any way if it is a desktop, it just shouldn't happen. The only thing I can possibly suggest is that in some way the demand on the video signal from the TV is overloading something, though it is the first time I have heard of it. As for names, there are yourself "georgeriley139", plain "georgeriley", and "curiousgeorge" registered, those three names all trace to Shefield, and can't help but think it is all the same person. If it is, and each has been registered for odd reasons on your end, let us know and we can merge the accounts or delete two of them, whichever you want. The reason for this is because it is actually in the forum rules, rule number 8, here :- http://extremetechsupport.com/threads/11463-New-to-Free-PC-Help-Forum-Rules#.VGEqhslKTE5 We don't normally enforce it as it is understood that sometimes a member can forget that he or she may have registered once before some time previously and then comes back with a slightly different user name, but is actually the same person. Once it has been cleared up then the accounts can be merged or one or more deleted. Please let us know if those user names are all yours, or indeed there is a few different georgeriley's around and we can sort things out from there. In the mean time I will ask the other tech's if they have any idea as to why the TV is making these odd changes. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. georgeriley139 Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Hi Nev ok merge them all into this one please....and thankyou Quote
Plastic Nev Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 OK George, will ask an administrator to look into it for you. Also asked about the problem you are having with the TV, and sorry, but we do think that the only possible cause could be that the TV is causing some sort of overload on the video signal, though how that is happening we can't say.
