Hardware problem and improve speed

Hi all

 

firstly many thanks for brilliant past help. I have a hardware problem. Got a CTX monitor which is switching on and off until it warms up, then fine. Secondly what can I do to speed up my PC general performance?

Can you try the monitor on another PC ?

This will tell you if the problem lies with the monitor or your system.

 

Secondly what can I do to speed up my PC general performance?

This depends what extent you want to go to.

 

1. Do you wish to spend money on this system ?

If so - how much ?

 

2. How old is this system ?

 

3. Is it VERY slow ?

Do programs take a while to load ?

Is it slow to boot up ?

[ give us some times ]

 

4. How much RAM do you have ?

 

5. I assume that this is XP ?

If so - are you running SP3 ?

 

Give as much information as you can please.
