I am not with you Ken it is a new download every time as its an update it just tries to up date and finishes with the same failure.

 

I have done another try to down load since ie 9 installed

No Luck

That article seems to suggest that SP1 would not be offered if those conditions were on your system

If I understand, from what we have done so far, you get as far as trying to install SP1 and it fails.

 

However, let's take a look at some of the suggestions.

 

What have you done ( from the last link ) so far ?

 

Have you gone into DirectX ( dxdiag ) and checked that you do not have Igdkmd32.sys on your machine ?

This would seem to be the most likely.

You can download the file itself and save it.

This way all you have to do it click on it to attempt to install - you don't have to wait ages for it to download each time.

 

Go here - click here

Instead of selecting "Run" click on "Save As"

save it to your desktop.

 

You need to click "Download" then scroll down to find windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe at the bottom of the list

Put a tick in the box and save this to your desktop.

 

When you want to try installing SP1 again - just double click the SP1 File ( desktop )
