I've recently built a decent spec gaming pc for my son, but can't get 3d vision working.

Got an acer xb270h monitor, i7 4790k and Msi gtx 980 gaming graphics card.

Every time I run stereoscopic 3d setup as soon as I get to display and click next the screen flickers and goes off (to no signal).

It is set to 1080 at 120hz.

This is on a fresh clean install of win8 64 bit and I have uninstalled/re installed drivers several times. They are all the latest ones from nvidia.

Please please can anyone help as its now the 27th and my son still can't use his Christmas present! Feeling really gutted for him.

Cheers in advance!

Hi Ken, thanks for the response but sadly no, it didn't help! Haha!

Spoken to all kinds of people now but no one seems to be able to help me! Such is life! But thank you very much for your time anyway

Was a driver issue. For anyone else with this problem you need to download graphics driver uninstallation tool from pcguru and then run this from safe mode.

Boot into windows and install nvidia drivers WITHOUT ir emitter connected.

Run 3d setup wizard, and connect ir emitter when prompted.

4 days, lots of hassle, but I got there in the end!

Thanks for letting us know Tim and very handy knowledge to have.

This actually sounds similar to printer and scanner set up issues, as you found, the hardware must not be connected till prompted to do so.

No problem Nev, the instructions actually tell you to plug IR emitter in before installing the drivers. I have no idea why, as it doesn't work (on my pc anyway) if you do it that way.

All's well that ends well!
