Hi. New here, so apologies if this has been asked before. Bought second hand notebook - Samsung NC20, came with no OS installed, but XP installation disc supplied. Bought an external CD drive, and after some playing around managed to install OS.

It also came with System Software Media disc for installing, and when I've tried to install this keep getting message saying Windows cannot read from this disk.

Have googled the problem, and most people are saying I should remove upper and lower filters in registry. Trouble is, there are no filters in that particular part of registry.

Currently unable to do anything else with computer until I install that disc.

Anyone know of any fixes?

Hello and welcome....

The disk maybe the issue, you can download direct hardware and software updates from here: Samsung NC20 .Download on another computer if you do not have an internet connection on the notebook, transfer using USB pen drive or DVD/CD disk from the one computer to the NC20.

This is what I do with my Samsung NC20.

Please get back to me one youve tried this, thanks.
