rcoyet Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Hi, I have currently an original Windows7 SP1 cd. If I install windows now on a computer and then check for updates, it will download over 800MB of updates and it takes a while to install all of them. How can I create a windows cd with all the updates, so when I install windows it’s up to date? Thanks Quote
DSTM Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Hi. I don't think that's possible.I installed Windows7 SP1 yesterday and there were initially 194 updates and over 900 MB. Then when you install office another 40 or so updates. Slow process. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
KenB Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 How can I create a windows cd with all the updates, so when I install windows it’s up to date? As DSTM says - not possible I am afraid. The reason why you had so many updates is that the original CD was produced some time back. From this date MS would have released updates every month. There is no way you can install Windows and have it up-to-date ...there are always updates. If I buy a dell computer with windows 7 pre-installed it already has most of the updates installed. When I click on “windows updates” in “control panel” it wouldn’t show any installed updates, so it must be that all the updates were install together with windows. Quote
DSTM Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I can't say how they do it as I don't work for any of these Companies. They would have to install the minimum updates required to make the new computer run it's best initially I would think. In the real world we have to install all updates via Windows updates in the normal fashion. No getting away from that, I'm afraid.
