This does leave me wondering why free? Microsoft must have something hidden away that will cost you in some other way, they have spent a lot of time and therefore money on Windows 10, how are they going to get it back without some catch somewhere.

Maybe they are trying to keep up with Apple as they are giving the new Operating Systems out for free :)

FREE Upgrade

Everyone is focusing on the word "FREE".

I don't doubt the free part but I do question the word "Upgrade".

I've been using Windows 7 since it came out and Windows 8 since Christmas. I don't consider 8 an upgrade so I doubt I will consider 10 an upgrade.

I have managed to customize 10 so I never have to go to the Apps page or use the charms bar. I did not use third party software. I even managed to migrate the Windows 7 games to the Windows 8 computer because 8 does not come with games. It seems that with every newer version of Windows I can do less not more. With 8 you can't even change the width of the scroll bar without using regedit.

My list of complaints about 8 is long but my point is that I doubt I will consider 10 an upgrade for much the same reasons.
