lidotax Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Is this normal? pc hogging resources Before I consider buying another laptop I'm trying to understand whether what I am presently running is reasonable or whether there are any particular services hogging resources? Presently the computer seems to lag and is quite slow to perform basic transactions eg print to pdf in nitro pdf or adobe? The main applications I use are Google Chrome / Dragon Dictate software / Windows Office. Both of Chrome / Dragon seem to take up half to 1 GB of RAM when in use? Is this normal? The two and half year old PC runs Windows 7 with 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB of hard drive space and 2 Ghz processor. Would something new run any faster or should I try to reduce browser extensions turn off dragon dictate and put up with it? The fan seems to run noisy continuously too. Any feedback would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance for your any comments. Quote
