Internet Explorer I have mistakenly copied my Internet explorer folder to my desktop, therefore I have two folders.

I have tried to delete the desktop version but get the following message : You require permission from OUR-COMPUTER\Roy to make changes to this folder

How do i remove this folder please in easy steps please?

Hi and welcome to ExTS

Try this:

1 : open the file properties by right clicking on it > Properties

2: Then open the Security option and click on your user name.

3. now click on Edit.

4.: Then select "allow" by ticking the boxes to Full Control and all other options. Then click on OK.

Now try deleting the file from the Desktop.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Thanks for your reply, tried the above but it will not allow me to tick the full control option.

Right click on the desktop - New - Folder

Give it a name

Left click and hold on the IE Icon and drag it over the new folder.

Release the left button.

IE Icon should now be in the new folder.

Try right click on the folder > Delete

Hi

Take a look at option 2 here - click here

I have this registry change on my system.

After installing right click on the folder > click on "Take Ownership"

Then try deleting again.

Thanks Ken, carried out above and now all deleted.

Hi Roy

Good to hear that you finally got rid if it.

Windows sometimes does that and treats your Admin account as a restricted user ... the "Take Ownership" tool sometimes comes in handy :)

The folder may be in the Recycle Bin ....you may wish to delete it from there too.
