Hi just wondering if someone would be willing to share their wisdom with me.

Im able to build PCs and understand the basic operation of them and can fix some problems.

Where I really fall down is viruses/malware/spyware, what scanners (free/paid) do you use and from this information how do you remove them (manual/use a program).

I struggle to understand scan results and am wondering what I need to learn ie more about the registery etc?

Many thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to ExTS

Where I really fall down is viruses/malware/spyware, ..........I struggle to understand scan results

You are not alone.

This is a very specialised skill and those people who help others actually are trained in malware / virus removal.

It is not something that you can pick up as you go along by trial and error.

I must state that I am not trained to help in this specialism - but we have people here who are.

am wondering what I need to learn

If you are interested in learning more then you need to read Starbuck's post on this subject. - click here

The training is totally free.

This is a long(ish) process and requires commitment - but the benefits are to be seen at the end of training when you can help others to clean their systems and get them running again.

Take a look at Starbuck's post and if you have any other questions - just ask.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
