PEV Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 After a full computer scan my AVG Free Anti virus has found Trojan horse PSW Generic 12 which has been secured in the virus vault. Question is do I delete it or empty virus vault? Help please. Ray Quote
RandyL Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Hi Ray. Normally it is safe to remove quarantined files. The reason they get quarantined instead of deleted right away is because they might be false positives or even a program you might actually want to keep or your computer experiences strange behavior after they get quarantined. However I'm not familiar with this infection and I would be hesitant to do anything else unless advised by an expert. If I were you I would wait for one of our trained experts to advise you before doing anything else. Quote We are all members helping other members. seedy21 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Hi Ray, I looks like the Trojan name is a universal name so it does'nt tell us alot. Any chance you could look at the Quarantine file and tell me the name and path it used? PEV Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 Hi Seedy Sorry I have now deleted it as it seemed safe to do so. Ray Quote
