nicksdarkroom Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Hi all, I have a HP Compaq 6715s. Its been excellent to date very reliable etc no issues to report. However i've just attached an external keyboard (PS/2) the HP KB0316. The right hand shift button seems to be acting as a AltGR key and the backslash ket doesn't work, thats just the problems so far. The driver is for a standard 101/102-key or Microsoft natural PS/2 keyboard, which i've tried unistalling and reinstalling to no avail. The HP keyboard is plugged into a USB port via an adaptor but I've also tried a USB keyboard which does exactly the same. I've looked on the HP website for a driver for the keyboard but there isn't one available. Can anyone help, it's driving me mad! Many thanks Nick Quote
JEBWrench Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Did you specify in the Control Panel which keyboard layout you were using (101/102) after plugging in the external keyboard? nicksdarkroom Posted February 21, 2008 Author Posted February 21, 2008 It doesn't allow me to specify a keyboard. There are 3 listed the one i've mentioned and 2 HID keyboards. Quote
Seth Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 As a test, try disabling the other keyboards other than the USB one that you're using: Right click those in Device Manager, choose Disable and restart.
