Hi Folks I hope you can help.

I have just upgraded my graphics card, now when I try to convert mp4 to avi mysystem just shuts down. I think the problem is my PSU is not powerful enough (this is where you guys can help) When I check my event viewer I get theerror,

source Kernel-Power

ID 41

lost power unexpectedly.

So what do you guys think? If it is my PSU can you recommend a new PSU whatwould be compatible with my system.

Thanks

H

Hi Hoggie,

AMD Radeon R7 200

From what I can find - the minimum requirement for a PSU is 450 Watts

Whilst a higher wattage would be better .....your system should be ok with 450 Watts assuming that the PSU is performing properly.

Does this new card have any additional 6 or 8 pin power connections - and if so have you connected these ?

If you put your old card back in do you get the same result ?

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

The new card is powered by a 6 pin connected by an adapter (can't remember the name) 6 pin one side with two cables connected to my extra power cables from my PSU. I have been going to change over to see if it still done it with my old card, just not had the time.

If you have a volt meter check out the 6 pin connection and make sure there is a voltage there.

It would help if you could check it with your old card and post the results :)
