I have just upgraded my graphics card, now when I try to convert mp4 to avi mysystem just shuts down. I think the problem is my PSU is not powerful enough (this is where you guys can help) When I check my event viewer I get theerror, source Kernel-Power ID 41 lost power unexpectedly. So what do you guys think? If it is my PSU can you recommend a new PSU whatwould be compatible with my system. Thanks H Quote
KenB Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Hi Hoggie, AMD Radeon R7 200 From what I can find - the minimum requirement for a PSU is 450 Watts Whilst a higher wattage would be better .....your system should be ok with 450 Watts assuming that the PSU is performing properly. Does this new card have any additional 6 or 8 pin power connections - and if so have you connected these ? If you put your old card back in do you get the same result ? Hoggie Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 The new card is powered by a 6 pin connected by an adapter (can't remember the name) 6 pin one side with two cables connected to my extra power cables from my PSU. I have been going to change over to see if it still done it with my old card, just not had the time. Quote
KenB Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 6 pin connected by an adapter If you have a volt meter check out the 6 pin connection and make sure there is a voltage there. It would help if you could check it with your old card and post the results :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
