Can any one tell me how to totally get rid of OneDrive? I thought I had uninstalled it but it keeps on syncing when I don't even want it, nor have I ever used it.

When it is syncing, it nigh on stops my pc. Annoying.

To uninstall OneDrive from Windows 8 and previous operating systems, you go through the same process as you would uninstall any other application, except you need to ensure it's unlinked from your account first:

Disabling One Drive on Win8.1 is slightly different.

 

Since OneDrive is built into the operating system in Windows 8.1, you cannot uninstall it.

You can however disable all of the syncing features one of these methods: disable each syncing feature individually or unlink your Microsoft account from your Windows account. OneDrive syncs both settings and files in Windows 8.1 so you have to turn off syncing any settings.

 

Disable Each Feature

 

To disable each feature or individual features of OneDrive, follow these instructions:

• Open the Charms bar, click "Settings", and then click "Change PC Settings"
  
• Select "OneDrive" and then select "Sync Settings"
  
• Disable the setting "Sync your settings on this PC"
  
• Optional: Select the File Storage settings and then deselect the "Save documents to OneDrive by default" to stop programs from automatically saving to OneDrive
  

You'll also have to make sure to not put any files into the OneDrive folder; once it's in that folder it will sync to OneDrive. You cannot remove the OneDrive while you still have your computer connected to your Microsoft account.

 

Unlink your Microsoft Account from your Windows Account

 

To unlink your Microsoft account from your Windows account, do the following:

• Open the Charms bar, click "Settings", and then click "Change PC Settings"
  
• Select "Accounts" and then select "Disconnect" under your account name
  

Your entire Microsoft account will be disconnected from your Windows account and OneDrive will not work on your machine.
