ahai1 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Hi I have searched the internet high and low but I have not got an answer. I decided to roll back to Windows 8 as I was not happy with windows 10. To cut a long story short what happend was that I was watching YouTube and I left the room. It seemeed that the computer restarted itself. I am not sure if there was a blue screen of death or anything as i was not in the room. My computer is only one month old. I have had some problems with AMD before but my brother got new drivers for me from their website as well as setting me up on Windows 10. This has only happened once today. On a unrelated matter if anyone is interested Windows 8 is quicker than 10. Quote
KenB Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Hi ahai1 and welcome to ExTS One restart is not a cause for concern. It could be virtually anything that caused it. If it happens again - and it blue screens - make a note of the STOP error number. This may give us a clue as to what has caused the problem. Hopefully it has sorted itself out and will behave from now on. Keep us posted :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
ahai1 Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 I might be wrong but I am not always near the computer and I might miss the blue screen of death. Can't I use the task manager to figure out what the problem was? Quote
KenB Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Download the "Crash Analysis Tool" from here - click here You will need to scroll down the page a bit. Install and run it. The Analyse button will give you any relevant results. You need to know the date and time of the crash. ahai1 Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 Here is the complete report. I am only intersted on stuff on the 26/08/2015. I have no idea what to do. I have had no crashes since. Welcome to WhoCrashed (HOME EDITION) v 5.51 This program checks for drivers which have been crashing your computer. If your computer has displayed a blue (or black) screen of death, suddenly rebooted or shut down then this program will help you find the root cause and possibly a solution. Whenever a computer suddenly reboots without displaying any notice or blue (or black) screen of death, the first thing that is often thought about is a hardware failure. In reality, on Windows most crashes are caused by malfunctioning device drivers and kernel modules. In case of a kernel error, many computers do not show a blue screen unless they are configured for this. Instead these systems suddenly reboot without any notice. This program will analyze your crash dumps with the single click of a button. It will tell you what drivers are likely to be responsible for crashing your computer. It will report a conclusion which offers suggestions on how to proceed in any situation while the analysis report will display internet links which will help you further troubleshoot any detected problems. KenB Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Hi It is suggesting that the problem lies with your Video Card drivers or that the Video Card took too long to respond. Personally I would leave well alone unless the system blue screens again. If it does then it may need the drivers updating. The error log is not very specific and the crash could be caused by numerous factors. Leave it until it happens again - if in fact it does. ahai1 Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 Sorry made a mistake it should have been AMD Radeon R3 Graphics. Quote
ahai1 Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 Hi I uninstalled it from the task manager but now I can't find it so that I can reinstall it. I am talking about AMD Radeon R3 Graphics. I guess no more YouTube unitl I sort it out. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Did the card come with a disk for installing its drivers? If so you need that disk again, the probable cause of your problem could be the drivers were updated for Windows 10 when you installed that, but quite likely unstable for the original Windows 8 or 8.1. There would possibly be instructions for the correct method of installing the card and its drivers as well if it did come with a disk. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? ahai1 Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 There was a problem as the AMD would not download it failed more than once so I am using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Is that fine? I don't play games just want to watch YouTube and other video services.Or do I need AMD which it failed to downlaod as I said. Quote
KenB Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 If the MS BDA works for you then this is fine. Have you tried YouTube and other video? If this seems to be ok run it for a while and see if it blue screens now. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
