KenB Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hi Ray What is the advert? Is it an actual email ? Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
RandyL Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I don't have Sky Yahoo mail but I do have a Yahoo account. There is an advert in the Yahoo mail folders such as the inbox. It's at the top of the emails list and looks like a email but it is not. The only way to get rid of it is to delete or move every single email from the inbox. Of course as soon as you get new mail it will be back. You could switch to the Basic Yahoo mail view to get rid of it but Basic really is basic. Place your pointer over the gear next to your name. Click settings. In the "Viewing email" section tic "Basic". Click Save. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. PEV Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Hi Ken I have learnt from Sky community forum that this advert has been imposed on most if not all Sky yahoo email accounts by Yahoo. Everybody is going mad and complaining about it and many are threatening to move to BT or other IP's Ray Quote
KenB Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Hi Ray - seems that you are not alone then :) You could try what Randy suggests - but be prepared for basic settings. PEV Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Yes Ken seems I'm not alone and now I know it's an unsolicited advert forced on me and not a virus I will live with it ATM but I think a lot of folk are really miffed and there will be a big move to other ISP's unless Sky/Yahoo put a stop to this spam.
