ianhaney31 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Hi I need some help, I am having issues with Windows 10 and my small office network I have a talktalk router plugged in and the ethernet cable from that to a network hub that has around 32 ethernet ports in I think and in our small office we have 3 PC's connected by ethernet cables in the network hub and before I installed Windows 10 we had Windows 7 and it was all working fine, I could click on network and then see the other PC's and as it was shared, I could see the files etc in the shared folder as that was how we shared files etc. but now since Windows 10 has been installed, it keeps saying enter your network credentials so have tried that but keeps saying it is wrong even though I know it is right so think Windows 10 has a bug or something on the network side is there a way to get it working as want to do backups to one PC which is the main server one where I backup files to it using software called FBackup can anyone help and let me know if is something I can do to get it working etc. Thank you in advance Ian Quote
RandyL Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I confess to know nothing about Windows 10 and file sharing. However since everything worked when all the computers had Windows 7 I'm wondering if you have this setup as Home Group or Work Group. I don't know about Windows 10 but when networking other Windows versions that are not the same versions Home Group does not work. Different versions of Windows had to be in Work Group. I currently have Vista, 7 and 8 networked in the Work Group but I don't have a 10 machine. Quote We are all members helping other members. Hi Thank you for the reply RandyL I have sorted the issue now, it was where the officeserver did not have a password set on it so I added a password and seems all ok now Quote
