Hi guys,

A few weeks ago I downloaded Ad-aware by Lavasoft, (free version) I had no problems till I realised it was continuously running in the background and slowing the PC down.

I was also starting to get critical update warnings for it several times a day so I did an uninstall using the programmes uninstaller, low and behold its gone from my programmes list, BUT I am still getting critical update warnings several times a day for a programme I no longer have, Any Ideas gratefully received.

Please feel free to move if in wrong area

cheers DD

Hi Dawnsdad

Ad-Aware is not the best program to uninstall.

Follow the instructions below and post the reports and I'll see what leftovers are still on the system.

Note:

There are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool available. Please pick the version that matches your operating system's bit type.

If you are unsure what you're system bit type is..... click Here for help.

For x32 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

For x64 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to your Desktop.

  • Double-click the downloaded icon to run the tool. Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please copy and paste that as well your reply.

Thanks
