ben5341 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Hi all, Game: Football Manager 2010 I know it's an old game, but it is a favourite of mine and I love to play it. I have been playing it on my pc for the last couple of years with no problems and then the other day the game would no longer open. An error message was appearing to say their was a graphics problem I uninstalled the game and reinstalled and at the end of the process the game would still not open. This message appears - cannot run game: failed to set up graphics system. Spoke to a friend who works in IT and he did a general clean up of our pc and this has not fixed the problem. He installed the latest Direct X as well. He said we will need to upgrade the graphics card which I'm happy to do. But this does not make sense as it has worked on the pc for nearly 3 years, why would the graphics card suddenly not be good enough? Same issues and messages occurred when I tried to play football manager 2007 - and again this had previously worked on the computer. Any ideas - do I just upgrade the graphics card or does it sound like something else is the issue? Cheers, Ben Quote
KenB Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Hi and welcome to ExTS I am not an expert on games or gaming so suggestions may be limited. Please confirm that you are using Windows-8. Try the compatibitity troubleshooter: Windows Key + S .........type in .....run programs .......then click on the box ....run programs made for previous versions of windows The trouble shooter will scan your system. Click on F-M 2010 if it appears. If not select Not Listed Follow the on-screen instructions.
