David R Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Hi, Currently running windows 7, yesterday I decided to upgrade to windows 10. Once complete I had internet connectivity but couldn't browse on the web, after spending a couple of hours trying to get this sorted I decided to restore to windows 7. Now back in windows 7 but have limited wi-fi access, no email or browsing. Error messages I receive are Wired network adapter is experiencing problems. There might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter. Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter. So far I've tried Device Manager - Network adapters - updating the driver software internally and by downloading from manufacturers website and uninstalling and reinstalling. All advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you Quote
KenB Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Hi and welcome. Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter. This is the clue to what is possible causing your problems. You could try the inbuilt troubleshooter. Right click on the network icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Do you have internet access at all ( wireless / wired ) ? Take a look here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/299357 You can reset TCP/IP manually or let the "FixIt" do it for you. If you have no internet access on that machine then you could save the "FixIt" to a memory stick.
