Hi,

I cannot receive emails with Windows Live Mail. When I open my Inbox, a box appears, asking me to log on. I have reset my password with the Microsoft code, but it still does not work. I rang Microsoft, and they said that they did not have the support to help.

Usually the issue is either an incorrect password or the email settings themselves are wrong.

 

What email won't work? Is it your isp email account or a different one? Different email accounts can have different settings which we might be able to find for you.

 

If your mail account is from your isp (internet service provider) then the password would be the password you use to access the internet with them.

After several more attempts, the password was accepted. It seems that although I created a new password with Microsoft, and it kept being rejected, I typed in the password which I think was the original one, and it worked.

Hi, make a note of that old password as well as the new one which you have reset. Microsoft can sometimes be a bit slow at recognising the new password.

That means the old password might work yet for a short time, then it won't and you will need the new password.
