Plastic Nev Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Another new one, or at least new to me! I don't have a paypal account, so I was suspicious straight away. This is an E mail to be deleted or forwarded to Paypals own security people.. DO NOT click on any link in it. I have coloured blue the words that are a link. (Not a link now though) [TABLE=align: center] [TR=class: userDetails] Thank you for choosing PayPal ! PayPal ------------------------------------------------------------------------ That link does not go to a Paypal website, also a check of the senders address is also a spoofed one of Paypal and hidden underneath is again a website that is not Paypal. Note the clever way they encourage you to click on the "Unauthorised payment" link. As said, it does not go to Paypal. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? RustyKnight Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I had a problem with Paypal last week, I had an email saying there was suspicious activity on my account and it wouldn't let me log in until I'd changed my password and when I had logged in it wouldn't let me do anything. I had to phone their customer service number. Apparently a lot of spoof emails had been sent but my problem was that someone in Illinois had tried to access my account, and a lot of others so they blocked every account that the Illinois IP address had attempted to access. Annoyingly the email I received just said their was suspicious activity didn't tell me that I had to phone Paypal to get them to unlock my account so I could actually use it.
