My wife runs a business and has a website which has email forwarding to a standard Talktalk email address. So when somebody emails to info@mywifeswebsite.co.uk these are forwarded to her Talktalk account. She then uses an email client set up for POP3 (Outlook 2003) and downloads her emails onto her computer. For outgoing emails she uses an alias via a separate account within Outlook; this details the outgoing Talktalk server but is set to nil for incoming mail. We are not technical people but this has always worked a dream.

We are hoping to leave Talktalk and to this end she has set up a GMX address. We have sought to replicate the above in exactly the same way but with GMX settings. The incoming / outgoing account works fine but the alias refuses to co-operate.

I thought I would start this post and just see if anyone can offer any thoughts ... if you think you can guide me I would be delighted and would be happy to offer some greater detail on the settings that we have used, the error messages etc.

Here's hoping and thanks for reading
