KenB Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Hi George Your profile is showing XP. Are you attempting to upgrade from XP to Win 10 ? Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
curiousgeorge Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Hi Ken no buddy im on windows 7 now Quote
KenB Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Hi George Sorry for the late reply - I missed this somehow :( If you are getting a message that "BIOS not supported " there are only two options. 1. Update the BIOS ( if there is an updated version available ) 2. Stay with Win-7 Personally I would be inclined to stay with Win-7 If the BIOS upgrade goes wrong your machine will be useless. Also there is no guarantee that the updated BIOS will be compatible. If you give me the make and model number of the machine I will see if I can find out a little more. curiousgeorge Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Hi Ken i have 2 machines which wont upgrade the 1st one is a Dell lattitude D630 the 2nd one is a Dell Inspirion N5110 Quote
Woodworker Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Out of curiosity, why do you want to upgrade to Windows 10? What do you want to do with it that you can't do with Windows? Unless it's really important to you, you might be well advised to avoid a load of frustration and stick with Windows 7. Quote
curiousgeorge Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 No its not important at all i may just take your advise Woodworker at stay as i am thanks guys Quote
KenB Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Hi George I have just done a search for your lattitude D630 - some are having problems and others not. If the BIOS is being highlighted as incompatible as I said before - I would be inclined to leave well alone. KenB Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Hi George If it ain't broke - don't fix it comes to mind. Nothing to be gained by messing with the BIOS - but lots to be lost :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
