Hi Lindos and welcome to ExTS :)

If I understand you correctly .... you open Task Manager and there are entries there that you cannot delete.

What heading are they under ? Processes / Details ?

Any chance of a screen shot ?

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Many thanks for your offer of help but I seem to have fixed the problem. I simply uninstalled a programme that I did not realise I had installed (Coupon printer?) and the problem disappeared!

Hi Lindos,

I simply uninstalled a programme that I did not realise I had installed (Coupon printer?)

Coupon Printer is what's know as a PuP.

(Potentially Unwanted Program) An application that is installed along with the desired application the user actually asked for. Also called a "barnacle," in most cases, the PUP is spyware, adware or some other unwanted software. However, what makes spyware or adware a PUP rather than pure malware is the fact that the end user license agreement (EULA) does inform the user that this additional program is being installed. Considering hardly anyone ever reads the license agreement, the distinction is a subtle one.

It's also called 'Adware'.

Basically this program was installed along with a legit program that you your self installed.
