tismehi Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 i use windows livemail on my windows 8 acer aspire v5 laptop. there is plenty of free hdd and sufficient ram available. a few weeks back after i clicked the mail icon, it said no new mail. i knew this to be incorrect as there was new mail on my smart phone. i looked on the net for answers and was led to microsoft where i was advised to delete the live mail account and reinstall it. i did this and all was well until this evening when the same thing happened, as before. tonight it said there was no more new email but there was on my mobile phone. any suggestions? KenB Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hi tismehi Sorry for the slow response. Could it possibly be a full mailbox on the ISP server ? tismehi Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 don't know much about that Ken. mail works in the windows 8 apps but not using the desktop shortcut. quite frustrating. Quote
KenB Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 mail works in the windows-8 apps but not using the desktop shortcut. I didn't read this in your first post .... So - is it just the desktop icon that is causing the problem? My Win-8 machine died so I am unable to test anything I may suggest from here :( Try this: Go to Windows Live Mail login Click and hold the Windows logo in the address bar Drag the icon to your desktop and release Right click on the icon and select Rename Name the icon Windows Live login or whatever you wish so that you can easily identify it Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
